The proposed under floor heating would be a system of crossed-linked PEX oxygen-proof pipe connected to a distribution manifold. Areas such as toilets, kitchen and corridors would be left as open circuit zones temperature controlled by the heat pump weather compensation. All other rooms would have thermostat control to limit the temperature in these rooms to the required temperature. The thermostat would control the opening and closing of the heat flow to the loops of the zone that the thermostat is controlling.
The under floor piping would be laid onto the floor insulation and covered by 75mm of screed. The U-value for the floor may be a maximum of 0.15W/m2. All internal and external perimeters must be insulated from the screed to prevent thermal bridging between the screed and the building foundations.
